Don Rickles Biography

 Don Rickles, an American comedian, actor, author and author was born in New York. He was among the most respected and popular entertainers. He had a mix of humor and quick wit and a genuine love for his audience, that led to him becoming a magnet for laughter, enjoyment and entertainment. The ability of his insults to sound funny and inoffensive was what made him a frequent participant on celebrity roast circuits. His jokes were often cruel and hurtful, but he was able to make the receiver laugh. Although he started as a regular comedian and performed routinely-prepared jokes, he changed his plans after realizing that his impromptu jokes were more well-known than the prepared material. His unique style won him many admirers which included Frank Sinatra. He was also a star in several TV and film productions. He also produced two comedy albums. He was honored with many awards, including the "Lifetime Achievement" award at The Comedy Awards. Don Rickles only had small roles on television after his graduation. In order to supplement his income Rickles started performing stand-up comedy. He was eventually referred to as an 'insult comedian'. The 1970s saw him take on an important part in the blockbuster film, Kelly's Heroes (1970) that starred Clint Eastwood. He made a number of appearances in television comedies like 'The Don Rickles Show' (1972) and 'The Dean Martin Roasts' (1973). Don Rickles married Barbara Sklar on the 14th of March in 1965. The couple had two kids: Mindy and Larry. Their son died on December 31, 2011. Bob Newhart was their best friend, and they often went on holidays together. They have been on numerous shows together, including 'Newhart.' Don Rickles died from kidney disease on the 6th of April, 2017 in his home in Beverly Hills, California.
