Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a ex-chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. She is the host of her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef featuring her distinctive hairstyle and her spiky, blond locks as well as her pumped to the max, shares basic techniques anyone can learn. Chef Burrell worked at top New York restaurants and studied Italian cooking traditions as well as the surroundings. In addition, she appeared on Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was inspired by food. After obtaining an English and Communications degree at Canisius College in Buffalo NY she became interested in the business of restaurant by enroling at The Culinary Institute of America. I loved every minute that I was a student at The Culinary Institute of America she states. I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't achieve enough and couldn't push myself enough. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) while attending Umbria. She also attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Her understanding grew of Italian culture and cuisine through her travels in Italy that has informed her cooking style. Burrell has been a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to brighten the lives of children facing problems. Burrell is also an Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador in which she promotes awareness of the condition known as juvenile diabetes. In her capacity as a guest speaker and mentor, she travels around the United States to discuss the joy of cooking as well as her professional career. Anne has said during her career in the kitchen she's extremely fortunate to be able communicate with people what is really important for her.
